Deployment Policy 
Public Information Policy
- Provide, as a benefit to the public, trained and certified dogs and handlers for search and rescue operations including avalanche.
- Facilitate ongoing training and education for rescue dogs, their handlers, and support personnel.
- Promote greater appreciation for SAR resources, specifically rescue dogs.
- Act as an educational resource, through public outreach and education, in the areas of outdoor, snow, and avalanche safety.
The Alaska State Troopers are responsible for all search and rescue operation within the state of Alaska.
AvaDogs Alaska is available for Search and Rescue deployment within the State, when requested through the Alaska State Troopers in accordance with Alaska Statute 18.60.120.
AvaDogs is also available for national and international deployment. Requests may be made directly through AvaDogs or through the Alaska State Troopers. National and International deployments are conducted only after proper notification and approval of the Alaska State Troopers.
AvaDogs Alaska is always availble for information about search training, Canine Training, membership and our public outreach programs. It is AvaDogs policy to not make public comments about ongoing or current search operations. Please direct all inquiries relating to search operations to the Alaska State Trooper Post in your area.
