About Alena
| Alena was born in Litomyšl, Czechoslovakia. but recently became a U.S. citizen. She has lived in the United States since 1995. A member of the Juneau Ski Patrol, Alena enjoys skiing and patrolling at Eaglecrest in the winter. She can often be found on the trails around Juneau walking with Milo and her daughter, Lenka. Growing up in Czechoslovakia, Alena competed in orienteering and ski racing—excelling in both. She has a degree in Elementary Education and taught 1st and 2nd grade in Prague, Czech Republic for seven years. Currently Alena works in the Patient Access Services Department at Bartlett Regional Hospital. Alena was a key person in the success of Milo's training thus far and has attended almost every training session since he began. She recently gained her NASAR SARTech II certification and looks forward to continuing her training and education with AvaDogs. |  |
